Frequently Asked Questions
How can I submit a proposal to present at ISEC 2010?
Unfortunately submission of abstracts has now closed. The ISEC 2010 Academic Committee regrets that it can no longer accept any further proposals. We do however encourage you to attend ISEC 2010 as a delegate in order to benefit from what promises to be an immensely informative and benefical conference.
Is Queen's University Belfast an Approved Provider of Continuous Education Credits (CEU)?
Queen's University Belfast is Approved Provider of Continuous Education Credits (CEU) for the Board Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) and Board Certified assistant Behaviour Analysts (BCaBA). Recertification is due in the 3rd year of the certification cycle and requires for BCaBA certificants, proof of completion of 24 hours of acceptable continuing education and for BCBA certificants, proof of completion of 36 hours of acceptable continuing education. One hour of continuing education must include at least 50 minutes of instruction during the hour in order to count as an acceptable hour. A list of approved presentations during the ISEC conference will be available soon. Cost for each ACE credit will be £5.00
Are there time allocations for presentations?
All time slots will be 1.5 hours.
In each session for individual presentations there will be 4 or 5 individual presentations, depending on the total number of papers accepted for the conference, so presenters should plan to speak for no more than 15-20 minutes.
Each workshop will be allocated a 1.5 hour timeslot.
Each symposium will be offered a 1.5 hour timeslot and it will be up to the symposium organiser to allocate time for each of the participants.
Each roundtable session will last for 1.5 hours: each roundtable presenter will be allocated a table for that session and conference delegates will have an opportunity to discuss the paper with the author(s).
Will people be required to present their posters at a given time or will these posters be left unattended, or both?
This will be confirmed by the Conference Committee at a later stage.
Are there any word limits or special conditions associated with the final submissions?
No word limit applies to the final submission of papers. A book of abstracts will be produced for the conference materials. Full papers will be made available on the website after the conference as 'grey literature' - posting on the web in 'grey literature' does not constitute formal publication.
Are there any rules regarding including tables and figures in ANY of the presentations (i.e. number of tables/figures allowed, sizes etc?)
No restrictions (apart from the time allocated for presentations, and the space allocated for posters)
What size should the posters be?
Poster presenters will be provided with 4ft x 4ft posterboard which will comfortably facilitate a B1 or A0 size poster landscape or portrait.
Is there a limit to the number of presenters allowed present?
No. A paper can have as many co-authors as required, but each presentation will be allocated the same amount of time, so it is up to the co-authors how they use this within the 1.5 hour time slot.
Do presenters have to pay to attend the conference?
Yes. All presenters, participants and delegates must register and pay to attend all/any elements of the conference.
